Description

This Easy 15-Minute Lo Mein is a quick, saucy, and flavorful noodle dish loaded with fresh vegetables and a rich umami-packed sauce. Perfect for a fast homemade takeout-style meal.


Ingredients

  • Noodles
  • 8 oz dry egg noodles (or fresh noodles)
  • Vegetables
  • 2 carrots, sliced
  • 1/4 yellow onion, sliced
  • 3 cups cabbage, thinly sliced
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 bunch green onion (green parts only)
  • Sauce
  • 2 tbsp dark soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp water
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1/4 tsp white pepper
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce


Instructions

  1. Slice all vegetables and set aside.
  2. Mix all sauce ingredients in a bowl until smooth.
  3. Cook egg noodles in boiling water for about 5 minutes, then rinse under cold water.
  4. Heat a wok or pan and sauté garlic, carrots, and onion for 2 minutes.
  5. Add cabbage and cook for another 2 minutes.
  6. Add noodles, sauce, and green onions, then stir-fry for 1 minute until evenly coated.

Notes

  • Add chicken, shrimp, or tofu for extra protein.
