Description

Honey Butter Chicken is a sweet, savory, and crispy skillet chicken dish coated in a rich buttery honey glaze with a hint of soy and vinegar for balance.

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp ground black pepper
  • 1 lb chicken breasts, cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 1 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 tbsp canola oil
  • 1 tbsp green onions, sliced
  • 5 tbsp butter, room temperature
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/8 tsp ground black pepper

Instructions

  1. Mix flour, garlic powder, cayenne, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
  2. Coat chicken pieces evenly in the flour mixture.
  3. Heat 1 tbsp butter and oil in a skillet and fry chicken 2–3 minutes per side until golden. Remove and set aside.
  4. Lower heat and melt 5 tbsp butter in the same pan.
  5. Stir in honey, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, salt, and pepper.
  6. Cook on low until smooth and caramel-like.
  7. Add chicken back into the pan and coat evenly.
  8. Let rest for 5 minutes off heat.
  9. Serve over rice and garnish with green onions.

Notes

  • Use chicken thighs for extra juiciness.
  • Adjust cayenne for spice level.
  • Best served fresh for crispy texture.
