Description
This Low Carb Philly Cheesesteak Casserole is a cheesy, hearty, keto-friendly comfort dish made with ground beef, peppers, onions, and melted provolone and mozzarella.
Ingredients
- 2 lbs ground beef (80/20 preferred)
- 1 large onion, diced
- 2 large bell peppers, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 8 oz provolone cheese, sliced
- 1.5 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 1 tbsp olive oil
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 baking dish.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Sauté onions and bell peppers for 5–6 minutes until softened.
- Add garlic and cook for 30 seconds.
- Add ground beef, season with salt and pepper, and cook until browned.
- Drain excess fat if needed.
- Stir in Worcestershire sauce.
- Mix in cream cheese until fully melted and creamy.
- Transfer mixture to baking dish and spread evenly.
- Top with provolone slices, then mozzarella cheese.
- Bake for 22–25 minutes until bubbly and golden.
- Let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
- You can swap ground beef for ground turkey or chicken.
- Add mushrooms for extra flavor and texture.
- For extra richness, add more provolone on top.
- Leftovers store well in the fridge for up to 3 days.
