Description
This one-pot creamy spicy Cajun sausage pasta is bold, rich, and ready in just 30 minutes. Perfectly creamy with smoky sausage and a spicy kick.
Ingredients
- 1 lb smoked sausage, sliced
- 12 oz penne pasta
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 1 bell pepper, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can diced tomatoes (14.5 oz)
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 tbsp Cajun seasoning
- 1 tsp paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.
- Add sliced sausage and cook until browned. Remove and set aside.
- In the same pot, sauté onion and bell pepper until soft.
- Add garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Stir in diced tomatoes, chicken broth, Cajun seasoning, and paprika.
- Add pasta and bring to a boil, then simmer until pasta is cooked and liquid reduces.
- Stir in heavy cream and cooked sausage.
- Simmer 2–3 minutes until creamy and well combined.
- Season with salt and pepper, then serve hot.
Notes
- Adjust Cajun seasoning to control spice level.
- Add Parmesan cheese for extra richness.
- You can substitute sausage with chicken or shrimp.
