Description

This one-pot creamy spicy Cajun sausage pasta is bold, rich, and ready in just 30 minutes. Perfectly creamy with smoky sausage and a spicy kick.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb smoked sausage, sliced
  • 12 oz penne pasta
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 1 bell pepper, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can diced tomatoes (14.5 oz)
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tbsp Cajun seasoning
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste


Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.
  2. Add sliced sausage and cook until browned. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same pot, sauté onion and bell pepper until soft.
  4. Add garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  5. Stir in diced tomatoes, chicken broth, Cajun seasoning, and paprika.
  6. Add pasta and bring to a boil, then simmer until pasta is cooked and liquid reduces.
  7. Stir in heavy cream and cooked sausage.
  8. Simmer 2–3 minutes until creamy and well combined.
  9. Season with salt and pepper, then serve hot.

Notes

  • Adjust Cajun seasoning to control spice level.
  • Add Parmesan cheese for extra richness.
  • You can substitute sausage with chicken or shrimp.
